Clear Creek farms was established in 1950 when W.O. and Jean White purchased their home and original acreage from the Burk Family of Illinois.  At the time Mr. Burk was operating a small dairy and a commercial egg operation.  When I say "commercial" egg, I mean the eggs were gathered off the ground, cleaned, boxed, and route delivered personally.  When W.O. purchased this farm he wasn't just buying a job; he was buying a way of life.  Over the years the dairy was shut down, the egg operation gave way to modern broiler houses, and the opportunity to purchase adjoining property was entertained.  The farm eventually grew to 220 acres with 4 broiler houses and 120 head of Brahman cross commercial cattle.  These were the good years, financially speaking. Three children were born to W.O. and Jean:  Larry, Judy, and Sandy.
My name is Joey Adcock.  I married Sandy.  During the dating years there was many an afternoon Sandy and I helped her Father gather corn, haul in hay, work cattle, or build fences.  Eventually though, the broiler houses aged and the Company would not renew the contract because W.O. would not "modernize" the houses.  The return on investment at his age just was not there.  Cattle prices got so low that the return each year would not pay expenses.  The cattle had to be sold.  The tractors and equipment aged with repair and maintenence expenses becoming exhorbitant. I'll wager that this story is all too familiar to those of you reared on a farm.  Then one day W.O. decided to retire.  It wasn't long till he realized that while owning 220 acres of prime real estate was nice to look at it didn't help at all when taxes came due.  A lifelong farmers' Social Security just wasn't enough.
This is where Sandy and I come in.  By this time God had blessed us with 4 boys.  We bought the farm from W.O. and Jean providing them with a life estate.  We both were blessed with good public sector jobs.  The old saying that "the Lord watches over fools and little children" has proven to be true.  Somehow, we've manged to rear those boys on this farm, keep our jobs, and pay the bills.  A miracle if there ever was one.  I retired this past summer to come home and try to restore the farm to profitability.  The boys are now grown and in college.  Our goal is to somehow leave this acreage intact for the next generation of this family.
The plan we've adopted to restore this beautiful place is outlined in part on this website.  We are a Christian family and the Lord has blessed us immensley.  Browse the site.  If you have questions or comments use the info on the contact page.  We would love to here from you.  If you decide to purchase one of our offerings we will do everything in our power to make that a pleasurable experience.
     Have a Blessed Day,
     Joey and Sandy
